Snowshoe Races

RACE RULES 

Snowshoes must be worn at all times during the race. If a racer loses a snowshoe during the final 50-meter sprint, he/she will be allowed to cross the finish line with only one snowshoe.

Racers must stay on the marked course at all times during the race. 

RACE OFFICIALS

Race officials are placed along the course to ensure all racers complete the entire course with their snowshoes on. Race officials note bib numbers and compliance to the rules.

DISQUALIFICATIONS

A racer can be disqualified for any of the following reasons: 

• use of non-compliant material
• racing without snowshoes outside of the areas neutralized by the Race Director
• leaving the designated course
• unsportsmanlike conduct and obstruction
• crossing the finish line without snowshoes on

Men and Women categories
Year of birth (for the season) 
 

5 km 10 km and half marathon  

MATERIAL

Snowshoes must be commercialized models
Minimal dimensions for the snowshoes are: 55 cm in length, 20 cm in width
Each snowshoe must have at least 4 spikes
Participants may choose any shoe or boot model
No poles allowed during the race
iPods and MP3s are not allowed

COMPLAINTS

A written complaint must be handed to the race director no later than 20 minutes after the results publication. The race director shall determine, within one (1) hour, the outcome of the complaint.
